Dirk Mertens, manager of Mertens Service Center: “In 1970, my father founded the Mertens company: a business with sewing machines and supplies in the heart of Ghent.
I spent twelve years learning the tricks of the trade as a technician there. After moving to Ledeberg, it was time to pass the torch to the next generation in 1996. Mertens Service Center, then known as Bernina Mertens, has since been responsible for the sale, maintenance and repair of sewing machines. For sewing supplies you could go to Mertens Mercerie, my sister Inge's business. So everyone has their specialty."

You will find us in Melle since 2008. With private parking, extra sales space and our own classroom, we can now serve you even better. Son Bart has also joined the business. This way, the family tradition continues and you can be assured of our services, passion and expertise in the future.”
