Dirk Mertens, manager of Mertens Service Center: “In 1970 my father kept Mertens company up and running: a business with sewing machines and supplies in the heart of Ghent. I myself learned the tricks of the trade as a technician for twelve years. After moving to Ledeberg in 1996 it was time to pass on the torch to the next generation.

Mertens Service Center, then known as Bernina Mertens, has been responsible for the sale, maintenance and repair of sewing machines. For sewing supplies you can go to Mertens Mercerie, the store of my sister, Inge. Everyone has their specialty.

You can find us in Melle since 2008. With a private parking, extra sales space and own classroom, we can now be of better service to you. In the meantime, our son, Bart, has also joined the business. This way the family tradition continues and you are also assured of our services, passion and expertise in the future. ”
